My boys loved sorting these lovely pictures (also included in the printable from Montessori Print Shop). There are 10 or so pictures for each category and a chart the boys were able to use to self-correct their work.
We looked at 3 examples of each state of matter: a block, a toy car, a ceramic pumpkin, a balloon, a ball, a bike tire (air filling each shape) and 3 different shaped containers of water. Tomorrow we will place ice cubes in a pan and watch them change states from solid, to liquid, and then to gas as the steam rises. You can find a few simple activities for different age groups here.

Awesome states of matter activities ... and I think it's great that you're celebrating National Chemistry Week! Celebrating observances like National Chemistry Week always seems to make learning extra special. I love the Montessori Print Shop materials and enjoy seeing them in use! Thanks so much for linking up with Montessori Monday. I featured your post at the Living Montessori Now Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/LivingMontessoriNow
